The London School of Samba is a charity and limited company set up to promote Brazilian carnival arts. We provide both learning opportunities and are a performance group. Primarily we are a voluntary group who hires professionals on a sessional basis for tasks which our membership is unable to do for themselves. As such we are not registered for VAT and currently have no National Insurance or Inland Revenue commitments.

We are looking for someone with experience in finance, budget setting and monitoring. They will be familiar with Quickbooks or other accountancy software. Experience of working with other Arts based organisations or charities would be an advantage. This will be a self-employed freelance contract, working mostly from home. Payment will be £14,000 p.a. It is envisaged that the duties will take on average 25 hours per week, 47 weeks per year, but these hours will vary to fit the busy periods of the LSS year.

This is an opportunity to be associated/involved with one of the most exciting and enthusiastic performance groups in London. While we do not have our own premises, many of our activities are based in Waterloo or Bermondsey.

Please send your CV and a brief statement of your suitability to Neil T Nash [email protected] by 4th November 2014.
