London Association of Brazilian Carnival Bands (LABAC)
Here is some exciting news about Samba and Brazilian carnival bands in London. Many of the bands in London such as Paraiso, Tribo, Baque De Axé and the London School of Samba have come together to create a powerhouse of ideas. The newly formed London Association of Brazilian Carnival Bands (LABAC) has been created to promote Brazilian bands at Carnival.
Notting Hill Carnival cancelled in 2021 due to Pandemic
With no live Carnival on the streets of Notting Hill due to the pandemic, the organisers of NHC (Notting Hill Carnival) were still able to put on a great show. The prestigious Panorama 2021 annual steel pan orchestra competition at Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park on Saturday 28 August 2021 still went ahead. The UK National Panorama Steelband Competition is an annual steel pan event that is held in London over the Notting Hill Carnival weekend and is the most respected and anticipated outside of the Caribbean.

Panorama 2021 – London School of Samba Invited to Perform
The newly formed London Association of Brazilian Carnival Bands (LABAC) were part of the team that made Panorama 2021 so successful this year. The close collaboration between Brazilian Bands in London such as Tribo, Baque De Axé and London School of Samba helped create a fantastic show for Panorama 2021. This event was in place of the Notting Hill Carnival in 2021 due to the pandemic.

The London Association of Brazilian Carnival Bands (LABAC) is a brand new organisation. The aim is to promote Brazilian bands and culture at carnival. Over time we will have more information about this exciting new collaboration for some of the best Samba bands in London.
